An Integrated Health Campaign with a sensitisation program on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Act 2017 was launched at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Tseminyu on June 4. The program was organised by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with the District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA) Kohima.
Deputy Commissioner Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, (NCS) emphasized the need for greater public awareness and community participation in health initiative, while proposing the welcome address. Chairing the program, Vituozolie Kuotsu, District ICTC Supervisor (DISHA), Kohima, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in addressing HIV/AIDS related issues. Dr Bernice D Thapru, JD (prevention) NSACS presented an overview of the Integrated Health Campaign followed by the formal launching of the campaign by DC Tseminyu, Japheth Woch.

During the program, District program Officer Kohima (DISHA), Sentimongla Tsudir spoke on the role of community participation in strengthening the HIV response. A key session on the HIV/AIDS (P&C) Act. 2017 was delivered by Asangla Walling, Panel Lawyer, Kohima District Legal Services Authority, who explained the legal rights and protections available to persons affected by HIV/AIDS.
The program concluded with discussion followed by closing remarks by Metevinuo Sakhrie, JD (IEC & MS) NSACS. The campaign aimed to enhance public awareness reduce stigma and discrimination and to promote a coordinated approach to health and HIV/AIDS prevention across the communities.
