In an initiative aimed at fostering camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a vibrant campus culture, the Lumami Campus Sports Club (LCSC) of Nagaland University, Lumami, has commenced the live screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on a giant screen at the University Auditorium.
The live screening is open to all members of the university fraternity, including teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars, students, and their family members residing on the Lumami campus. The screenings will continue throughout the tournament until the grand finale, offering the campus community a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is recognised as the single largest sporting event on the planet, surpassing all others in global reach, cultural significance, and sheer viewership.
According to a University press release, the initiative has received the wholehearted support of Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University and Chief Patron of the Lumami Campus Sports Club, and Dr. Abemo, Registrar of the University and Patron of the Club. Both appreciated the efforts of the Club in promoting a healthy sporting culture and strengthening community engagement on the campus through this collective viewing experience.
