Bhandari Town Council organises ‘Catch the Rain’ awareness programme

An awareness programme on “Catch the Rain” under the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidar (JSJB) Campaign was organised by the Bhandari Town Council (BTC) at the Summer House-cum-Guest House in Bhandari on July 24 to promote water conservation and rainwater harvesting.

The programme was chaired by Likao Odyuo, Deputy Chairman of the Bhandari Town Council, while the welcome address was delivered by Khonthungia Odyuo, Chairman of the Council.

Resource persons Kilangtemsu, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Bhandari, and Er. K. Hukato Shohe, Sub-Divisional Officer (PHED), Bhandari, highlighted the importance of rainwater harvesting, protection of water bodies and the efficient use of water resources.

The speakers explained the significance of harvesting rainwater to address water scarcity during dry seasons and emphasised the need for sustainable water management practices. They encouraged participants to actively contribute to water conservation efforts and adopt measures to ensure judicious use of available water resources.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Khosathung Tsapoe, Councillor of Bhandari Town Council, Chanka Ward.
