The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) is continuing to coordinate with district administrations, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and line departments to accelerate restoration works and ensure timely distribution of relief materials to communities affected by the ongoing monsoon rains across the state.
According to reports received from various districts, road restoration, debris clearance and damage assessment are being carried out on a priority basis to restore connectivity and minimise the impact of landslides and flash floods.
In Kohima district, landslides and mudslides were reported from Kenouzou Colony, DBS Road near T. Khel Kharu, Lower Chandmari Colony and Phesama. Partial road blockages also occurred along NH-29 near the Dzüdza River and the old Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site.
The NSDMA informed that the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) is undertaking daily debris clearance at the Phesama landslide site, while NHIDCL and the PWD (National Highways) are jointly clearing affected stretches along NH-29. Immediate mitigation measures and restoration works are continuing at all affected locations.
In Tuensang district, the road connecting Tuensang Village and Haak has been completely cut off following heavy rainfall. The concerned authorities are assessing the damage and initiating measures to restore connectivity.

In Peren district, the District Administration and DDMA distributed relief materials to an affected household at Beilikui Ward while road restoration and landslide clearance operations continue.
In Phek district, the Public Works Department (Roads & Bridges) successfully cleared a major landslide near Tsundang Village, restoring vehicular movement along the affected route.
In Longleng district, road clearance operations were carried out on the Anakhai-Shemnyuching road. However, the road linking Tamlu, Anakhai and Shemnyuching remains blocked, with restoration works continuing to reopen the vital stretch.
In Noklak district, the DDMA cleared a landslide along the 14-km stretch of the Noklak-Saddle Road. Road connectivity has also been restored along the Nokhu-Aniashu and Noklak-Langnok roads following successful clearance operations, while restoration efforts continue in other affected areas.
The NSDMA said it is maintaining close coordination with district administrations, DDMAs and line departments to facilitate restoration works and provide relief assistance wherever required.
The Authority has advised the public to remain vigilant during the ongoing monsoon season, avoid unnecessary travel through landslide-prone areas, and strictly follow advisories issued by the respective district authorities.
