As directed by the District Administration, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has informed all shopkeepers and business establishments under the Kohima Municipal Council to whitewash and paint the front of their buildings and shops facing the road.

The KCCI stated that all concerned should complete the whitewashing and painting work on or before August 14, in view of the Independence Day Celebration on August 15.

KCCI appealed to all members of the business community to comply with the direction and complete the required work within the stipulated time.

The Chamber further sought the cooperation of the entire business community in helping maintain Kohima Town clean, fresh and presentable ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
