Sikkim’s Asish Limboo was crowned the Champion of Champions at the 2nd Mr Northeast Bodybuilding & Physique Championship 2026 winning a cash award of Rs One Lakh . The championship was held at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, on Saturday.
The championship brought together bodybuilders and physique athletes from across the Northeast, with competitors from Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim taking part in various categories.
Limboo also secured the first position in the 75 kg category before emerging as the overall Champion of Champions.
In the men’s bodybuilding categories, Bhaskar Jyoti Das of Assam won the 55 kg category, followed by Kiojak Guha of Arunachal Pradesh in second and M Phimas of Manipur in third.
Worthan Lunglo of Manipur emerged winner in the 60 kg category, with Bijoy Sarkar of Arunachal Pradesh and Lungreishum Kasar of Manipur taking second and third positions respectively.
In the 65 kg category, Mishap Khapai of Manipur claimed first position, while Ashik Debbarma of Tripura and Hmangaihzuala of Mizoram finished second and third respectively.

Pritam Nahakpam of Manipur won the 70 kg category, followed by Wemu Tulang of Arunachal Pradesh in second and Thaichang K Marak of Meghalaya in third.
In the 75 kg category, Limboo took the top spot, with Tarh Peter of Arunachal Pradesh securing second and Uttam Tripura of Tripura third.
In the 80 kg and above category, Jeremy Lallawmzuala of Mizoram emerged winner. Lalit Rai of Sikkim finished second, while Vikash Chettri of Meghalaya took third position.
In Men’s Sports Physique, Daimalu Brahma of Arunachal Pradesh secured first position, followed by Surojit Das of Assam in second and Nagaland’s Vekoto Nyekha in third.
In the Women’s Model Physique open category, Niamuamara of Arunachal Pradesh emerged winner, while Anita Chettri of Sikkim and Juma Basumatary of Sikkim secured second and third positions respectively.
The championship was organised by the Nagaland Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (NBBFA) under the aegis of the Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (IBBFF) and the Northeast Bodybuilding Federation (NEBBF).
The championship featured nine categories across three divisions. Men’s Bodybuilding comprised six weight categories—up to 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, and 80 kg and above. Men’s Sports Physique featured two height categories, up to 165 cm and above 165 cm, while Women’s Model Physique was conducted as an open category.
Councillor of Ward 19, Kohima, Medoviu Martin Suohu, attended the event as special guest, while IGP (Armed Battalion-NAP) Imnalensa, IPS, was the guest of honour.
