The Working Committee (W/C) of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPG), led by Neokpao, has taken serious exception to a statement issued by the NSCN/FRGN on October 23, warning that it could create communal unrest and instil fear among Naga communities across India, including Naga students studying in different parts of the country.
In a statement issued by its Media Cell, the W/C described the statement as “immature and shortsighted,” alleging that its threats and intimidation could cause unnecessary fear and trauma among Naga communities as well as non-Naga communities residing in Nagaland.
The W/C demanded that the NSCN/FRGN immediately withdraw its statement and tender an unqualified apology to the Naga people and non-Naga communities and entrepreneurs peacefully residing in Nagaland.
It alleged that the group, which it described as a fringe organisation, was misusing the Naga political issue for its own interests through intimidation and harassment.

The W/C further stated that it would not tolerate the group’s presence or alleged activities in Naga-inhabited areas. It called for the group to be investigated, apprehended and punished in accordance with the law, stating that such action would serve as a deterrent against similar attempts in the future.
The committee also directed the NSCN/FRGN to disband within two weeks, warning of consequences if it failed to comply.
Appealing to the communities targeted by the reported statement to maintain calm, the W/C urged them to promptly report any concerns to its office for appropriate action.
