Kashiho Sangtam highlights logistics, connectivity at Port Blair orientation programme

Former Minister and Non-Official Director of the Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) under the Ministry of Railways, V Kashiho Sangtam highlighted the importance of logistics, connectivity and grassroots empowerment in driving inclusive national development during an orientation programme held at Port Blair.

Addressing the programme, Sangtam underscored the strategic role of efficient logistics and improved connectivity in supporting economic growth, while emphasising the need to empower communities at the grassroots to build resilient and sustainable societies.

The programme brought together participants from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas and strengthen institutional collaboration and capacity building. The proceedings began with registration and formal sessions before moving into discussions on development, innovation and cooperative engagement.

Sangtam’s address highlighted the importance of aligning institutional initiatives with local needs and broader national development priorities, particularly in geographically distinct regions such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
