Zunheboto admin continues SVEEP campaign with awareness programme in Satakha

A programme on the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign focusing on Clean Electoral Roll and Clean Election was held at Gen Zuheto Memorial Town Hall, Satakha on 10 December.

Along with the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, GBs and Village Council Chairman, colony GBs, and colony chairman of Suruhoto town, all unit officials of recognised political parties under 33 AC, and various NGOs and CSOs participated in the programme.

Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto, Vishal Chauhan, IPS, requested the Satakha people to be a guiding light for Zunheboto district by making the elections violence-free in their constituencies.

He also requested the people to cooperate with the administration and appealed to everyone to work hand in hand with the administration so that no violence takes place.

Chauhan further requested everyone to call him anytime if there was any problem and gave his number so that anybody can reach him at any time.

He applauded the Satakha people’s decision not to use any illegal arms and abusive substances during the election period and assured them that the administration would support them in achieving that goal.

The SP assured the people that the law would never distinguish between the ruling and opposition leaders or MLAs, small or big, new or old, and that anyone found indulging in any illegal activity will be brought before the law.

Deputy commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, applauded the way Satakha people maintain and keep the roads, town hall and infrastructures neat and clean and also keep the town peaceful. He requested them to keep the peaceful spirit during elections time too.

Mali requested the people to submit their legal arms to the administration soon and assured them that their guns would be safe.  He also requested the government officials not to be biased against any political party or person as everyone is equal before the law, and also requested them not to campaign or work for any political parties.

Lastly, the DC reminded the Satakha people that it was Lt Gen Zuheto and Lt Kughato’s dream that the people of Satakha live in peace and harmony and so asked them to live to their former leaders’ dream.

Earlier, short speeches were delivered by Hokugha, Chairman Satakha GBs Association and L Toshiho Naga, VCC Xuivi village.

The programme was chaired by Kepeusing Meru, SDO (C) Satakha with the welcome note delivered by M S Thangpong, ADC Satakha. The vote of thanks was proposed by Hokato, the vice-chairman of Satakha Town Council.
