In connection with the special summary revision of the photo electoral roll with reference to 1 January 2023 as the qualifying date, the final publication of the Roll was published today in the DC’s Office Chamber, Kohima.

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS, in his introductory remark stated that the draft roll which was published on 9 November 2022 with total Electors of 1,22,459 in Kohima district has now recorded a total addition of 2,519 and deletion of 1,297 with a net increase of 1,222 electors bringing the total final E-Roll Electors to 1,23,681 after the revision.

Shanavas also informed that a lot of similar photo entries have also been detected during the revision where Kohima alone has more than 9,000 entries which are under process for necessary correction. He further urged the political parties to note it and extend their full cooperation and support to the office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer for free and fair conduct of the election.

The DC and DEO handed over copies of the final roll (one hard copy and one soft copy) to the recognised representatives of the political parties during the programme.

In addition, according to a DIPR report, ADC and ERO Kohima Rhosietho Nguori, NCS, has notified for public information that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 8-Western Angami, 9-Kohima Town, 10-Northern Angami-I, 11-Northern Angami-II, 14-Southern Angami-I and 15-Southern Angami-II Assembly Constituencies has been prepared with reference to 1 January 2023 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors rules,1960.

A copy of the said roll together with the said amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at his office and with the Booth Level Officer.
