Authorities in Kiphire destroyed seized Indian Made Foreign Liquors (IMFL) worth Rs 2.5 lakh at Kiphire dumping area in Pungro road, about three kilometres away from the town on 23 January.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Kiphire, Phuleto Yeptho, NJS had ordered the pre-trial destruction of the contraband that included 352 bottles of MC rum, 397 bottles of AC Black Whisky, 13 bottles of Imperial Blue, 1 bottle of Old Smuggler Rum, 2 bottles of Royal Stag Whisky, 14 bottles of OC Blue Whisky, and 953 cans of beer.
The ‘Pre-Trial Destruction Committee members’ – EAC, SDPO, APP, OC/ P S, P I and DPRO Kiphire, and GB forest colony Yangkimong – witnessed the IMFL being destroyed.

Officials stated that the illegal liquor was from three cases registered by the police in the recent days.
Earlier, the SDPO and OC PS Kiphire had conducted raids on 18 January and seized illegal IMFL and arrested two women.
