Campaign for 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly ends Saturday

The campaigning period for the General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will end on 25 February 2023 at 4:00 pm, the Chief Electoral Office, Nagaland informed on Tuesday.

As per Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 public meetings will be prohibited during the period of forty-eight hours until polling is over, the notification added.

During the 48 hours, no election related public meetings or processions can take place, display of election matter by means of cinematograph, television or other similar apparatus is prohibited, organising musical concert or any theatrical performance or any other entertainment or amusement with a view to attracting the members of the public is also prohibited.

Nagaland CEO office also notified that all political functionaries will need to leave the constituency immediately after the campaign period is over.

This rule however does not apply for office bearers of the political party who is in-charge of the state but such persons much declare their stay and their movements will be confined to party office and place of stay.
