Nagaland’s Chief Electoral Officer, in his message on the eve of polling day, has appealed to the 13,16,064 voters in the state to exercise their voting rights without fear and undue influence and uphold the democratic principle of the nation.
“It is your legitimate right to cast your vote with the spirit of one man one vote,” he stated.
The electorates in the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the state will vote to elect their representatives to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election on Monday. Polling will begin at 7:00 am and end at 4:00 pm.

CEO V Shashank Shekhar, IAS greeted every voter of Nagaland in this festival of democracy and said that it is a proud moment for every citizen while also reminding that there should not be any malpractices/disturbance/violence etc. during the polling hour so that the election is conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner.
Further, he informed that voters can approach their Booth Level Officer (BLO) for voting related assistance.

Emphasizing that ethical voting must be maintained throughout the polling process, the CEO requested all the Presiding Officers and Polling Officers to discharge their duties and responsibilities as per rules and maintain Law and Order inside the polling station as well as in the catchment area of your polling station.
V Shashank Shekhar, IAS also wished the best to all the DEO’s, RO’s, ARO’s, Polling Officials, Law Enforcement Agencies and other related Election Officials, Voters etc.
Let this election be conducted in the true spirit of democracy, he implored.
