Chaos erupted in Lizutomi village under 34 AC Aghunato in Zunheboto District as some uniformed security personnel escorted a suspicious vehicle to the village around 10:00 pm on the eve of the General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The Wagon R was supposedly carrying the son of Lizutomi Village GB who had fled the spot leaving the car behind with cash inside, sources informed.
Sources added that the uniformed personnels had been questioned by the youth of the village who were of the opinion that there was no reason to deploy more uniformed officials when the security forces had already been deployed under the command of OC Aghunato police station.
In a video shared, the narrator claims that the youth, on getting the information about a vehicle being escorted to the village late in the night before the polling day, rushed to the spot and blocked the road with a boulder. In another video, the truck that was supposedly used to transport the uniformed men is shown. While another video shows two uniformed men being surrounded and questioned by the people of the village.

On contacting the 2nd OC Aghunato Police station, he said that the order of duty to Lizutomi came from ‘high command’.
Superintendent of Police Zunheboto, Vishal, IPS told Nagaland Tribune that the ‘command’s order’ and other things needs to be properly investigated. He added that order shows the names of 8 people while only 2 are shown in video.
The SP also said that his Officer-in-Charge has already reached the village and urged the villagers to calm down and allow the police to investigate the matter so as to determine who the ‘high command’ was and so that who created the confusion.
Further, he added that they need to speak to these uniformed personnel to understand the whole scheme of things.
