Voting in Nagaland began at 7:00 am on Monday as the 13 lakh legitimate electorates exercise their franchise to elect their representatives to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The state has 60 seats in the Assembly, but polling is being conducted for 59 seats as the BJP candidate from 31 Akuluto A/C, Kazheto Kinimi, won unopposed on 10 February.
Mokokchung
Voting at Polling Station-1 of 28 Koridang A/C in Mokokchung district was delayed by about 30 minutes because of some issue with the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The problem was resolved, and voting commenced.
Four candidates are contesting for Koridang seat – Imkong L. Imchen of BJP, Maj. Toshikaba (Retd) of NNP, T. Chalukumba Ao of JDU and I. Talitsuba Imchen, Independent.

Tongpang Ozukum, the NDPP candidate for 24 Angetyongpang seat, after casting his vote said that everything was going well in his constituency. He then set off to visit other polling stations. The sitting MLA’s opponents are S. Moangkaba Ozukum of NNP and Er. K. Wati, an Independent candidate.
Nuklutoshi, NPP candidate for 22 Arkadong A/C, too cast his vote and was seen touring polling stations in his constituency. He is up against Imnatiba of NDPP.
Secretary of Dilong Ward council which falls under 26 Aonglenden A/C, informed Nagaland Tribune that Polling Stations 1 and 2 began on time and that voting was being conducted peacefully. He asserted that there were enough election officials and security personnel in the area.
Sharingain Longkumer, the NDPP candidate of 26 Aonglenden A/C, and his wife were also pictured at Arkong North Polling Station at Arkong Ward after they cast their votes. His opponent is Toshipokba Longkumer from INC.
