Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung on Tuesday extended his appreciation all the political parties, candidates, civil societies, central observers, media and general public for their support and cooperation to ensure free and fair election in the district.
Replying to a question from Nagaland Tribune on the overall management on polling day, Mokokchung DC stated that with the support and efforts from all the polling officers, the election in the district was ‘satisfactorily free and fair’ in the district.

Singh also informed that the last polling party to reach the DC office and report was Anaki ‘C’ of 21 Tuli Assembly Constituency, Mokokchung.
The distance from Anaki C Village in Tuli circle to Mokokchung Town is about 90 km and the travel time by car is around 4 hours.
Singh told Nagaland Tribune that the party reached at 3:00 am on 28 February and thereafter, the strong room was sealed at 3:30 am in the presence of Returning Officers, Central Observers and Representatives of Political Parties/ Candidates.
“Procedure for sealing of strong room was properly videographed,” added the DC.
