In a major victory NDPP-BJP alliance secured 9 seats in Mokokchung District while NPP managed to secure a consolation. The district has a total of 10 Assembly Constituencies.

Three new faces will be representing Mokokchung. They are A Pangjung Jamir (BJP) from 21 Tuli AC, Imkongmar (NDPP) from 25 Mongoya AC and Temjenmenba (NDPP) from 29 Jangpetkong AC.

T.N. Mannen who contested for the fourth time managed a win against INC Bendangkokba from 23 Impur AC.

Five candidates namely Tongpang Ozukum (NDPP) from 24 Angetyongpang AC, Sharingain Longkumer (NDPP) from Aonglenden AC, Metsubo Jamir (NDPP) from 27 Mokokchung Town AC, Imkong L. Imchen (BJP) from 28 Koridang AC and Temjen Imna Along Longkumer (BJP) from 30 Alongtaki AC retained their respective seats for the second term.

Lone NPP Candidate, Nuklutoshi from 22 Arkakong AC came back from behind to defeat his rival Imnatiba of NDPP.
