Khrielie Usou, BJP Kohima unit President while expressing his gratitude to the state and central leadership and the electorates for reposing their trust in BJP candidate Er. Kropol Vitsu, he also raised concerns for the elected candidate as he will be representing 14 constituencies of four districts, stating that the elected member has a major role to play and a vast area to cover.

The leaders from the four districts are of the view that the lone BJP elected candidate should be given a good cabinet portfolio in order to let him perform his task in all the 14 constituencies.

“In the last 13 Nagaland Legislative Assembly we have face that without a party legislator or a contested candidate, it is a big problem for a party worker to work for the party. So in the last term, we have struggled a lot to work for the party but by the grace of God and with the sacrifice of all the party workers now we have come to at least having one MLA. We request our Central leaders, our state leaders to give him a good portfolio so that all the karyakartas doesn’t face the problem which we have faced in the last 13 NLA,” added Usou.

The leaders also pointed out that since 2013 the four districts did not get any opportunity to serve the people with the help of an MLA or Ministers from the BJP party and now, that a BJP representative have been elected, it urged the leaders to take their appeal into kind consideration.

“We have one MLA, so if we are given the opportunity, if he is given the responsibility, we will be able to serve our people with the help of our MLA if he is given the chance to serve in the government.  Our party is focusing to serve the people not only as a political party, not only giving interest in the politics but into social too and unless we have that opportunity and unless we have somebody to guide us, somebody to help us we have no way to serve our people,” the leaders stated.

Further, the leaders also said that no official letter or memorandum has been submitted to the state or central leadership on this matter.

The joint Press conference was addressed by BJP Kohima unit President Khrielie Usou, S.Pusai Rhakho Vice President Phek, Huzan Tadbo Meriam, Peren and Thomas Magh State Executive member represented Tseminyu district.
