A 25-year-old girl succumbed to bullet injuries at a private hospital in Dimapur around midnight on Monday. The incident reportedly took place at Zeliangrong colony, Dhobinallah from where the deceased, Supou P, was brought to Faith Hospital by her boyfriend, Thingiu Khiam (36 years).

The girl, an MA History final year student at Unity College Dimapur, is suspected to have been shot by Khiam, who is an SS Deputy Kilonser of NSCN-Khango group.

The police have arrested the suspect along with his bodyguard, Mongchon Khiam (37 years). The police have also recovered weapons from their possession including one modified AK rifle with two magazines and 55 live rounds of 7.65mm ammunition and one country made .32 pistol with one empty case.

Further, two sets of walkie talkie and a soft top Gypsy vehicle were confiscated.

A case has been registered under relevant Sections of Law and investigation is ongoing, police informed.
