Wokha DPDB felicitates 9 girl toppers of HSLC & HSSLC exam 2023 from district

Nine toppers (Girls) of HSLC & HSSLC Examination 2023 from both private and government schools were felicitated under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) during the monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting held on Tuesday at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha.

Certificates and cash awards were handed over by Advisor Mhathung Yanthan, Achumbemo Kikon and MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe.

Congratulating the achievers, Yanthan said that comparing with results of other districts the pass percentage of Wokha district is very discouraging, where he called upon the concerned department to put more effort and work out modalities in areas where improvement can be made in order to bring out good result. He also reminded the teachers and schools management authorities at the village level to carry out their responsibilities with outmost sincerity.

During the meeting the following agendas were discussed and approved to higher authority for recommendation, upgradation of Government Primary School Phiro “A” to that of Middle School, upgradation of Government Middle School Merapani to that of Government High School.

The board also approved for creation of One (1) post of SDO (Soil) at Ralan SDO (C) headquarter.

Departments of PHED, Soil & Water Conservation, Water Resources, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Land Resources, Power, Social Welfare, Police, DRDA, Aquatic and Water Resources, Economics & Statistic, Labour, YRO & DSO, School Education, Food & Civil Supplies, highlighted detail action plan reports to be implemented at the four aspirational villages under Wokha district.  In this regard Chairman DPDB Wokha and Advisor Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan requested all departments to effectively work out and implement the proposals and projects for the benefit of the people. He also reminded the other departments who are yet to submit the action plan to do the needful at the earliest.

The Chairman also said that Head of Offices in the district to be in their place of posting and serve for the welfare of the people and added that officers failing to attend the meeting without obtaining leave will be viewed seriously and urged all officers to attend the DPDB meeting without fail.

Later in the day, Mhathung Yanthan accompanied by MLAs Mhonbemo Humtsoe, Achumbemo Kikon and DPDB members visited Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha and inspected the hospital facilities and had interaction with the doctors and nurses,

Acknowledging them for providing sincere and effective health care service to the people of the district he also assured to the hospital authorities that the elected members as well as the Wokha DPDB members will do its best to assist the district hospital for the benefit of the people of the district.
