KCSU holds 60th General Session cum Fresher’s Social & Cultural meet 2023

The Kohima Chakhesang Student’s Union (KCSU) held its 60th General Session cum fresher’s social & Cultural meet 2023 under the theme “Fostering Unity in Knowledge & Culture” on October 28. The Meet was held at the State Academy Hall, Kohima with Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan as the Guest Speaker and Murohu Chotso as the Cultural Guest.

Addressing the event, Guest Speaker Mhathung Yanthan emphasised on the importance of education which is the essential foundation that enables the youth to find their power, strength and potentials. “Education not only enables the youths to meet their powers but also empowers and enhance them to meaningfully contribute to the society. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” Yanthan quoted

Lauding the Chakhesang community for their hardwork and for being rooted to their culture, Yanthan maintained that the community is a progressive, united and honest segments of Naga society. Yanthan also remarked the outstanding performance of both private and government schools of Phek District in the last HSLC and HSSLC examination and lauded the community for their efforts to achieve the success and attribute the success to the unfaltering, dedicated support and cohesiveness of the community. Yanthan also advised the Freshers to maintain the hardworking trait which is one of the characteristics of the Chakhesang community. Drawing attention to the eroding moral values which has been passed down from generations to generations, the Advisor urged the gathering to revamp the traditional values and customs that has been handed down by the older generations and underlined that spiritual enrichment and empowerment which results from active participation in the organisational actives contributes in becoming a good, strong and a quality leader. “Remain up to date, informed and develop the critical thinking ability and make the best use of it,” advised Yanthan to the students.

He further called upon the gathering to become more responsible citizens and extended his gratitude to all the parents, teachers, and mentors who are the backbones and the Chief supporters for rearing the young minds of the community

Earlier, the Presidential address was delivered Veze Tünyi, President KCBCK, greetings by President Chakesang Students’ Union Avezo Kevin Kapu. Rev. Neiko Meru, Pastor KCBCK prayed for the freshers while the vote of thanks was proposed by Rukewete K Edemi. Vezühü Keyho exhorted and benediction was pronounced by Deo Huprem, Youth Director CBCK

Meanwhile, Vetuzo Swuro delivered the speech on behalf of the Freshers and Lüngolü Chüzho performed a special number.
