The Kohima Police on November 18 arrested two extortionists in Kohima town, while another person was arrested on November 19 on possession of suspected heroin.
This was informed in a press release issued by PRO Kohima Police. On November 18, two persons were arrested in a concerted effort by North PS and District Anti Extortion Team, led by SDPO (North) Kohima. Acting on a tipoff regarding extortionists demanding money from business establishments in Kohima Town, the team conducted an operation and successfully arrested one person identified as S. Timothy Swu (28 yrs), an active member of NPGN/NNC (Non-Accord) along with his accomplice identified as Nokget Konyak (25 yrs).

Further on November 19, during a routine checking of vehicles, personnel of Khuzama Police inter-state check gate, detected and recovered 50 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing approximately 600 gms. Which was concealed in a car (Hyundai i20) coming from the neighbouring state of Manipur. One person namely Md. Wahidur (30 yrs) has been arrested in this connection, informed the PRO.
