A press release issued by the PRO and Additional Superintendent of Police Tuensang informed that the Tuensang Police arrested eight persons in the month of November on cases relating to extortion and possession of drugs and alcohol.
On November 15, acting on a tip-off, the Tuensang Police conducted MVCP in Tuensang Town, wherein one vehicle was intercepted and upon checking the vehicle, MC Rum (750 ml) – 30 Bottles and Beer (500 ml)- 24 Cans were recovered from the possession of one person namely Chingmak Chollen Chang (32 Yrs), S/o- Late. Yemlong Chang, V/o- ‘C’ Khel Tuensang Village, P/Add- High School ‘B’ Sector Tuensang town. In this connection, a regular criminal case has been registered vide TSG PS case No. 59/2023, U/s- 44 € NLTP Act for investigation, mentioned the PRO.
On November 16, the QRT (Crime Branch) DEF Tuensang conducted a search at one suspected house at NST ward Tuensang and recovered 4.14 gram (approx) of suspected brown sugar from the possession of one person namely Ongmang Yemjong (32 Yrs), S/o- B. Among, V/o- Hakchang, P/add- NST sector Tuensang. Subsequently, during the initial enquiry, two more co- accused person namely : Thungti Lempong (32 Yrs), S/o- Youna, V/o- Chingmei, P/add- Home guard colony Tuensang, and T. Changkumchuba Chang (32 Yrs), S/o- Tochimong Chang, V/o- Yempang, P/add- Kamchu sector Tuensang were also apprehended. A regular criminal case has been registered under the NDPS Act for further investigation.

On November 17, a written Suo- Motto FIR was received stating that on November 16, some miscreants were found to be demanding money from the truck drivers at Bazaar area Tuensang town. Accordingly, the QRT (Crime Branch) DEF Tuensang swiftly acted upon the information and apprehended three persons namely Longpang Khumba (42 yrs), S/o- Seyang, V/o- Hakchang, P/Add- Bazar ‘A’ Ward Tuensang, Yemlong Somba (39 yrs), S/o- Ngaku Somba, V/o- Noksen, P/Add- High School ‘B’ Sector Tuensang and Bamotakum (53 Yrs), S/o- Lt. Yanchang, V/o- Tuensang village. In this connection, a regular case has been registered vide Tuensang PS C/No- 61/2023, U/s- 384/34 IPC for further investigation, informed the press release.
Further on November 19, basing on the reliable source, a Night Super bus bound Tuensang from Dimapur was checked at the counter and one suspected person in possession of Brown Sugar. The drug detected weighed 24.58 Grams (Approx) which was seized from the possession of accused person namely Ngushu alias Gorge (35 Yrs), S/o- Late. Homong, V/o- Tobu, Po/Ps- Tobu, Dist- Mon, P/Add- Nagarjan, Dimapur. In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered vide Tsg PS C/No- 62/2023, U/S- 22 (b) NDPS Act for further investigation.
