The Kohima Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has issued a press release cautioning all the vendors at the Hornbill Night Carnival not to charge exorbitant prices, violation of which will invite penalty of monetary fine and cancellation of the trading licence.
“Every service or items on offer within the Night Carnival should not EXCEED the available regular market price, so as to ensure that the carnival is economically friendly to the revellers and also to create a win win situation for all the stakeholders in the long run as well as to promote the Night carnival market as a healthy and vibrant precursor for the festive season that is ensuing,” stated the press release issued on November 30, by Keluongutuo Solo, Convenor, Organising Committee Hornbill Night Carnival 2023 and Kevichuzo Angami, Member, KCCI.

With the mega event holding its speciality in providing quality attractions, the Hornbill Night Carnival Organising committee has put much emphasis on pricing. It stated that the rates and price regulation has been put in place to discourage exorbitant charges on food and beverages, gaming and other items up for sale.
“The KCCI welcomes all foreign and local tourists, individuals, groups and families to come and witness what the Hornbill Night Carnival has on offer and be part of the Carnival enjoying the festive month to the fullest,” stated the press release.
