Ahead of Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President S Supongmeren Jamir and Manipur PCC President Keisham Meghachandra met with All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal at the Party Headquarter in New Delhi on Thursday. At the meeting, the leaders discussed the upcoming Rahul Gandhi led yatra, which is set to start from Manipur’s Capital Manipur on 14th January 2024.
Those present at the meeting also included AICC Treasurer Ajay Maken, member of Congress Working Committee Mohan Prakash, Nagaland and Sikkim In-charge Rajesh Kumar Sethi Jain, Manipur In-charge Girish Chodankar and Manipur Congress leader Okram Ibobi and Spokesperson Ningombam Bupenda Meitei.
The Party on Thursday released the route map of the tour which will go through 110 districts in 14 States in 66 days and culminate in Mumbai in Maharashtra. Congress had earlier informed that the 6700 kms Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will be mostly bus journey with short walks now and then and that Rahul Gandhi will raise the issues of economic justice, social justice and political justice during the yatra.
In Nagaland, the Congress’ tour will cover 17 Assembly Constituencies in five districts in the span of two days. NPCC Vice President GK Zhimomi has been appointed as Convenor of the organising committee for the State.
