National Girl Child Day celebrated in Chümoukedima and Tseminyu

The National Girl Child Day Programme organised by District Administration, Chumoukedima & District HUB for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Chümoukedima under BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO was held at Chümoukedima Town Hall on January 24, informed the DIPR. Munesh Payal (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police and Esther Aye, Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee, Chümoukedima graced the occasion at the event.

Drawing attention to the Helpline 181, Esther Aye stated that it is not only for emergency but to give information on various schemes for Girls and Children. She encouraged the students that Education is so important in every aspect, so that by educating themselves they will not be discriminated and that they can contribute in the society. Aye also requested the Government to take care of at least two Care homes from the ten care homes from Chümoukedima

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Munesh Payal (IPS) in her speech said that Discrimination is always there in the mind-set of other people. “So to overcome this, we have to push and motivate ourselves so that we won’t get discriminated,” said Payal. She urged and encouraged the students to achieve something which they dream of and to be their own role model. “If you are educated, there will be financial freedom and will received respect from the society. Work hard and do not to compare yourself with others as everyone is unique in their own way,” remarked Payal.

The order of the programme was chaired by Esther Sumi, Protection Officer, Chumoukedima and Vote of Thanks by Mhashumi T Ezung, EAC & Nodal Officer, BBBP, Chümoukedima.

TSEMINYU

The District Administration and the District HUB for empowerment of women Tseminyu under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) also organised the National Girl Child Day on January 24 at Town hall Tseminyu.

The keynote address was delivered by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman Mission Shakti Tseminyu, Rohit Singh. Short speeches were proposed by Tali Imchen, Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu, G. K. Rengma president Rengma Sports Association and representative of Medical Department.

During the day long program, the women contingent for Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 and District Icon-BBBP, Flora Kent, Miss. Tseminyu 2023 were also felicitated. The program was chaired by Ruokuosetuo Tetso (NCS) EAC & Nodal officer Mission Shakti Tseminyu.
