In a noble initiative aimed at promoting village authorities in implementation of women and children centric initiatives of the Government,  four villages under Peren district were declared as “Girl Child Friendly Village”.

The declaration was initiated by the District Administration, Peren, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Peren, under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).

The selected villages are Tening village, Samzuiram village, Old Puilwa village and Bongkolong village. Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS handed over the certificates of appreciation and declaration to the selected village councils during the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting on February 7.
