The Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, organized a comprehensive Orientation and Capacity Building Programme for its officers, spanning two days at the Atoqa Tea Estate in Nikhekhu, Niuland. Commencing on the February 8, the event witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including its Advisor Hekani Jakhalu, and other key officials, informed DIPR.
The program aimed to augment the Capacity and Skill Set of Industries & Commerce Officers, fostering their professional growth and efficacy in serving the public. Director A. Temjen Jamir extended a warm welcome to the participants, acknowledging their commitment to professional development.
Advisor Hekani Jakhalu delivered an impassioned address, emphasizing the significance of capacity building and interpersonal skills for public servants. She advocated for the integration of continuous learning initiatives across Nagaland’s governmental departments, urging officers to embody values of sincerity, dedication, and continuous learning in their service.

The first day, facilitated by YouthNet as the event’s Knowledge Partner, featured team-building exercises and SWOT analyses led by Director Nuneseno Chase. The second day focused on enhancing practical skills and knowledge among officers. Additional Director Er Y Lipongse conducted an exercise on business prototyping, offering insights into innovative problem-solving approaches. Additionally, officers received awareness sessions on Ministry of MSME schemes by Deputy Director Hojeto and Ministry of Textiles initiatives by Executive Engineer Er. Asenla Walling, enriching their understanding of relevant government initiatives.
The training concluded with Additional Directors P. Tokugha Achumi and Er Y Lipongse Thongtsar expressing gratitude to Advisor Hekani Jakhalu for initiating the much-needed training.
