DC Peren advises Presiding Officers, 1st Polling Officers to have thorough understanding of election procedures

Peren: More than 500 officials trained on first day of training

In Peren, the first phase of training for Presiding Officers and 1st Polling Officers was held in two sessions at three different venues namely, Town Hall, PTWWO Hall and Old Catholic Church Building, DIPR said.

Briefing the polling personnel, DC & DEO Peren, Vineet Kumar apprised them on how Election Commission of India (ECI) has been conducting elections and advised them to have a thorough understanding of the election procedures. He also stressed on the importance of attending training programmes and in case of doubts and queries, he asked them to get clarification from the Master Trainers without hesitation. Further, he conveyed best wishes to them and urged them to perform their assigned duties responsibly and give no room for error.

In his short address, ADC Peren, Japheth Woch also appealed to the trainees to get well acquainted with the machines and election process. He encouraged all the polling personnel to discharge their assigned duties sincerely and efficiently.

In the morning session, training was imparted on the topics: Duties & responsibilities, Postal Ballot and Election Duty Certificate (EDC), while in the afternoon session, the officials were given demonstration of EVM & VVPAT, followed by Hands-on session and doubt clearing session.

Nodal Officer, Training Management Peren, Albert, SDO Ahthibung, Nchumthung Ezung, Andrew, Petekhrie-o, Heiramchube, Dr. Hulin, Machihei, Igong, Lemtsaliba and Zekope led the training sessions.

More than 500 officials were trained on the first day of the training.
