Senior Politician and Advisor for Information and Public Relations, Soil and Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, termed the decision of the Nagaland State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to clean the church premises across Nagaland as “stupid”.

“Even though it is the central, state or district leadership, such kind of decision should not be taken by a political party. There should be mutual respect for each other,” he added.

Taking note of the recently concluded parliamentary election in Nagaland wherein the lotus party was attack from the Christian community, Imchen said, “under that given situation if you come in the premises of the church without permission and consent, that means you are undermining the sanctity of the church.”

Further, he said that the basic idea of a political party in order to seek people’s votes and support should be to cultivate and earn their trust.
