The Kohima Village Council (KVC) has strongly condemned the inhuman act committed by Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyu Whuorie upon Lt. Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou and his son, Thejavizo B. Miasalhou on May 18 in Kohima.
In a press release, the Council has requested the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation so that justice is not delayed and book the culprits under the appropriate section of law and give exemplary punishments of the highest order.
“The Kohima Village Council conveys its deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family members of the Lt. Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou and pray that the departed soul rest in peace,” stated the press release issued by Helievi-o Solo, Chairman, KVC.
Kohima Village Youth Organization
In another press release, the Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) denounced the physical assault on Lt. Miasalhou and his son Thejavizo. B. Miasalhou on the evening of May 18 in Kohima.
“The two perpetrators Mr. Neizosetuo Kire and Mr. Khrietsonyü Whuorie of Kohima village after their despicable act, ruthlessly left Lt. Mr.Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou unconscious which ultimately led to his demise. The Kohima Village Youth Organization will render its services in any capacity to bring about justice to the victim and his family and appeals to the law enforcing agencies to expedite the investigation and book the culprits under appropriate section of law,” asserted the organization conveying its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

Angami Women Organisation
The Angami Women Organisation also expressed shock and anguish in what it considered an ‘inhuman brutality” meted to an elderly and respected leader Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, P.A. to the Deputy Commissioner Kohima and President, Mezomia Mechü Kehou.
“That the incident has taken place in broad day light and in the middle of Kohima town has not only shamed the Angamis but has also tarnished the good image of the capital of Nagaland,” stated press release issued by Neithono R.Sothu, President AWO.
Condemning the act, the AWO urged upon the competent authority to deliver justice to the victim without delay.
The AWO also conveyed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family and extended solidarity at the time of grief and sorrow.
“We appeal to all concerned to remain calm and refrain from any action that may aggravate the situation,” appealed AWO.
