AYO lauds closure of shops in Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts on Sundays, regrets ‘disturbing trend’ in Kohima

Kohima: AYO to conduct checkings in collaboration with various youth organisations and stakeholders

The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has conveyed its appreciation to all stakeholders for successfully implementing the Sunday closure of shops/business establishments in Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts. At the same time, it expressed its disappointment over business establishments and roadside vendors operating on Sundays, “in contrary to the directives issued by the Municipal Council and District Administration”.

“It is evident that numerous shops/business establishment and roadside vendors remain to be opened on Sundays and for which, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) through this press release reiterates that, shops/business establishments within the Angami jurisdiction to be closed on Sundays, except those permitted by the Municipal Council and District Administration”, the Organisation stated.

Further, AYO has informed that it will be conducting checks in collaboration with various youth organisations and stakeholders and initiate action against defaulters.
