Meanwhile, the state government has invited the ANATG Core Committee for another round of meeting at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat. The meeting is said to be headed by School Education Advisor K T Sukhalu.

Today is the ninth day of the Ad hoc teachers’ agitation outside the Nagaland Civil Secretariat. The teachers have been pressing the government to meet their demand of service regularisation. The state government maintains that it is constrained by a standing court order to fulfil their demand.

The teachers have been on hunger strike since 30 September.

Since the start of the agitation on 26 September, three meetings have been held between the All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) and different government officials.

On 29 September, ANSTA met with Kevileno Angami, Commissioner & Secretary for School Education & SCERT, and other officials. Then on 1 October, the ANATG officials and ANSTA held another sitting with the Commissioner and Secretary, followed by another meeting with the chief secretary and other officials. During the latter meeting, the state government had proposed the constituting of a High Powered Committee (HPC) within one month which was rejected by the ANATG 2015 batch.
