The banana fiber training program at Itiki School, delivered by Runway The Banana Community (TBCom) was held during the summer camp. This initiative aimed to educate and inspire the students about the incredible potential of banana fiber, a sustainable and versatile material.
Over the course of the program, students engaged in a variety of hands-on activities, where they explored traditional methods and modern applications, gaining practical skills that highlight the environmental benefits and innovative uses of these resource.

Further, Medziphema also served as the venue for an innovative workshop on banana fibre, facilitated through a partnership with Coffelady and Ginger Nova. The workshop was held on July 25.
The session focused on educating participants about the sustainable benefits and practical uses of banana fibre. The training included the entire banana fibre production process, from harvesting to processing and product creation. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities on various products and learn about the potential of banana fibre in various applications, including textiles and eco-friendly products.The workshop was a resounding success, equipping participants with new skills and insights into sustainable materials.
