The Chief Medical Officer, Noklak, Dr Victor has said that the situation in Dan Village is under control following the outbreak of a flu-like illness. On 30th August 2024, a source had informed Nagaland Tribune that 17 out of the 49 samples that had been sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV) at Pune investigation have tested positive for H1N1 Swine Flu.
Dr Victor informed that the CMO Office Noklak collected sputum from affected villagers and sent those samples to Dimapur on 31st August, to be further sent to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Dibrugarh, Assam for investigation.
The Noklak PHED has collected water samples from Dan Village and sent it for water quality testing to Tuensang PHED, he also informed. Further, the District Health Authority and District Administration, Noklak have looped in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry to take the necessary action by screening the swine and cattle population.

CMO Dr Victor told Nagaland Tribune that after receiving the news of an outbreak of illness with flu-like symptoms in Dan Village on the evening of 23rd August 2024 from the District Administration, Noklak, who had been informed by the Assam Rifles, a medical team comprising of one doctor, one lab technician and a nurse from Noklak, one Medical Officer and a nurse from Pangsha were activated to assist the situation at Dan on 24th August. The health camp concluded on 25th August and by then all the necessary medical supplies were mobilised, he stated.
The Noklak District Health Authority has also advised citizens not to panic since the situation is under control and they are taking all the necessary measures.
