The Chairperson of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB), Lt Gen (retired) Amarjeet Singh Bedi, has said that NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) has been found violative of certain provisions of the Ceasefire Ground Rules and of misusing the Ceasefire office allocated to it for purposes other than what it is meant for.
Speaking to mediapersons today on the abduction of two people by members of NSCN-K (Niki) on 10th October 2024 at Diphupar in Dimapur, Lt Gen Bedi mentioned that the Board had receiver representations from various groups apprising it of the incident and that the Board has found the faction accountable.
Further, the Chairperson said that the group has committed in writing that they are ready to adhere to the Ceasefire Ground Rules and even assist in apprehending the culprits at the earliest and hand them over to the police.
Lt Gen Bedi also assured that the Nagaland Police is making all efforts to arrest the accused and mentioned that raids had been carried out NSCN-K (Niki) office and other locations. The CFSB Chairperson said that the Police have put up a lookout notice for two individuals with rewards for information leading to their arrests.
