The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has condemned the “reprehensible and cowardly attack on the character of Dr. S.C. Jamir, a renowned Ao Naga leader and architect of the State of Nagaland.” In a statement, the AKM said that “the baseless and vicious allegations” made against the former chief minister on the Facebook group “The Patriotic Nagas” are an affront to the entire Ao Naga community.

Additionally, the student body stated that it is “outraged” by the derogatory remarks made against Ao women in the same post by the group. It said that the remarks are not only unsubstantiated but also reflect a disturbing mindset and demanded accountability from the perpetrator.

While affirming its commitment to protecting the dignity and honor of the Ao Naga community, the AKM has urged all Ao citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Further, it has urged the Administrator of the Facebook group “The Patriotic Nagas” to produce the individual responsible for the despicable post within the stipulated period given by the Ao Senden which ends on 12th November 2024.
