Traffic Advisory issued for 4th Dec Stone Pulling Ceremony in Kohima

Kohima: Diversions to be enforced for traffic on NH 02

The Office of the Superintendent of Police, Kohima, has issued a Traffic Advisory for 4th December 2024 (Wednesday) in view of the Stone Pulling Ceremony as part of the 25th Hornbill Festival celebration. The stone pulling is planned to be held on the Kohima-Moa National Highway-02 stretch from Jakhama Military Station to Kisama Heritage Village (2nd Gate).

In this regard, the Kohima Police has notified that the said stretch would remain closed from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Further, in order to ensure smooth conduct of the event, the following traffic regulations would be enforced:

– All vehicles (passengers) coming from Manipur will be diverted via Viswema – Kidima prayer park – Kezocha – Chakhabama – New Secretariat – Meriema – IG stadium – T. Khel model road and vice versa for Manipur bound vehicles coming from Dimapur side during the stone pulling ceremony.

– NST shuttle bus coming from Kohima will continue to operate whereas shuttle bus service from Kigwema to Kisama shall remain suspended during the stone pulling ceremony.

The Kohima Police has requested for cooperation and support from all citizens.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has also issued an Order relating to the Stone Pulling Ceremony to be held on 4th December informing that the Kohima-Mao National Highway-02 stretch from Jakhama Military Station (TCP gate) to Kisama Heritage Village (2nd Gate) would remain closed for vehicular traffic from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
