A state-of-the-art market access facility for coffee processing and storage, funded by the Fostering Climate Resilient Upland Farming Systems in the Northeast (FOCUS) program of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), was inaugurated on December 11 at Tsiesema Village.
Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha, District Project Officer, Land Resources Department, officiated the inauguration ceremony. The facility, established to enhance the market opportunities for tribal agricultural and allied cooperative societies, will be instrumental in processing and storing coffee collected from across Nagaland.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tseikha emphasized the transformative impact of the facility on the livelihoods of tribal farmers. “This facility marks a significant step towards empowering the tribal farming community by improving their access to markets and enhancing the value of their produce,” he said.
