The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed strong dismay over the outcome of the Emergency Cabinet Meeting held on April 21 wherein it was decided to keep in abeyance the absorption of 147 assistant professors and librarians.
“The ANCSU through its appeal vide ref.no. ANCSU-Min/HE&T/App-4/2023-2025 dated 19/04/2025, considering the interest of the students, aspirants and sanctity of academic institutions requested the state government to rollback the absorption order. However, the state government disregarding this issue even after several representations from various organizations, evidently demonstrated the failure of its commitment towards educational welfare of students in the state,” expressed the ANCSU in a press statement issued on April 23.

It demanded the government to ensure that the impending issue do not hamper the forthcoming Undergraduate Even Semester Examinations which are scheduled from 5th May – 29th May 2025 and that results are declared on time. “Should the government fail to act with urgency, the Union, in compliance with Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Ultimatum dated 21/04/2025, will be compelled to initiate democratic agitations in defence of students’ and aspirants’ rights,” cautioned the Union.
It expressed hope that the government will uphold the values of the students and public accountability in its actions, in order to avoid any chaos in the institutions.
