Five college buses flagged off to enhance student transportation in Nagaland

In a significant step towards improving higher education infrastructure in Nagaland, five new college buses were flagged off during the Government Principals Meeting programme held at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima. The buses were handed over to Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (Autonomous); Kohima College, Kohima; Dimapur Government College, Dimapur; Phek Government College, Phek; and Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, informed a press release.

The buses were flagged off by Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, in the presence of Sarita Yadav, IAS Secretary H&TE,  Sentiyanger Pongen, Additional Secretary HE, V. Lovitoly Sema, Ex officio Director Higher Education and other officers alongside principals from all government colleges.

This initiative of the Department of Higher Education is aimed at providing students with safer and more reliable transportation options.

During the event, the Minister extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, for his unwavering support in advancing student welfare and higher education in the state. He also lauded the proactive efforts of the Ex-Officio Director, V. Lovitoly Sema, and the Department of Higher Education for successfully implementing this much-needed initiative.

The Department of Higher Education continues to work tirelessly towards creating a student-friendly academic ecosystem, promising more such initiatives in the future, added the press release.
