A highly decomposed body, suspected to be that of a non-Naga woman, was discovered at a rubber farm in Thilixu on Friday, police sources confirmed.

The body, believed to be between six to seven days old at the time of recovery, was reportedly found in an advanced stage of decomposition.

Authorities said that the deceased appeared to be a female measuring approximately 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet in height.

Although the body was sent for a post-mortem examination, medical personnel were reportedly unable to conduct the procedure due to the severity of decomposition. However, the victim’s teeth have been preserved to aid in identification efforts.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death. Further details are awaited.
