Zaklom Ward of Mon town on Tuesday won the 3rd Inter-Ward Football Tournament, organized by the Mon Town Students’ Union (MTSU) in collaboration with the district administration. The championship was held under the theme “Stronger Together, Drug Free Forever.”

A total of 11 wards participated in the tournament, with Zaklom Ward and Shamnyu Ward advancing to the final match.

Zaklom scored the first goal after 30 minutes, which was later equalized by Shamnyu right before the end of the first half. In the second half, Zaklom Ward scored the deciding goal, ending the match 2–1 and claiming victory in the 3rd Inter-Ward Tournament 2025.

The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹30,000, while the runners-up received ₹15,000.

Project Director of DRDA Mon Manhom Konyak, who was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony lauded the organizers for putting together a spectacular tournament. While appreciating the well-wishers and participants at the tournament, Konyak also praised the players and encouraged them to use their talent, ability, and skills positively to strive higher.
