The Amahator Range Students’ Union (ARSU), under the leadership of President Lithrongba Jingrü, has extended full support to the demands of the RMSA teachers appointed in 2016. These teachers were selected through a fair and open recruitment process, and they deserve equal and just treatment, the ARSU stated.
The Union urged the Government of Nagaland to implement the Gauhati High Court order dated 16th March 2022 and the subsequent directives of the Supreme Court.
Stating that justice delayed is justice denied, the Union said for nearly nine years, these teachers have served with dedication, yet their rightful pay and entitlements remain unsettled.
It also termed the demands of RMSA teachers as lawful and genuine.
The RMSA teachers have demanded to grant them the correct pay scale as per ROP 2017, with all annual increments; recognize their service from the date of appointment in 2016; pay them equal to their colleagues appointed in earlier batches and clear all pending salaries and arrears without further delay.
The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) and several other student bodies have already voiced similar concerns.

ARSU called upon the state government to uphold the dignity of the teaching profession and set an example by honoring the court’s decision promptly.
It also said the Union would continue to support the teachers until their rights are fulfilled in accordance with the law.
