75 years of mission history: Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu Nito Mount celebrates jubilee in Zunheboto

The Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu Nito Mount (SBAK Nito Mount) celebrated 75 years of mission history at Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto on 9 November.

Beginning at 10am on Wednesday, the celebration was held under the theme ‘He’s the master of mission in all generations’ (John 5:17).

The Jubilee Stone was inaugurated by Rev Hukugha Zhimo, the executive secretary of SBAK Nito Mount.

Y Kikheto Sema, IAS, APC Nagaland and Mission Chairman of Rotomi Baptist Church, delivered the greeting message in which he laid out the example of the American missionary who made sacrifices for the mission, tracing back in time to narrate how the mission started.

He said the coming of E W Clark to Nagaland was God’s purpose, fulfilling the promise to spread the Gospel. He thanked the SBAK for initiating the programme to celebrate the glorious achievement.

Sema also said the first Baptist church in Nepal was started by Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Kohima. Whatever has to be done in our land we will do, he stated.

Rev Dr Khehovi A Shohe, the director of SBC, spoke on the theme of the celebration. Quoting John 20:21 from the Bible, he emphasised on the message given by Jesus to his disciplines to spread the Gospel. This is a mandatory objective of a Christian to achieve, Shohe said.

The programme was chaired by Vihoto H Awomi, Secretary, Dept of Mission and Evangelism.

Hokishe Kiba, SBAK Council President, gave the welcome note while a brief history of the mission was presented by Rev Henito.

A prayer for the jubilee was delivered by Rev Kiyevi, Mission Promoter Nagaland Mission Movement.

A special number was presented by SBAK centre church and SBCZ choir while a special item was presented by Nito Theological College.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Kiyeli Yepthomi, Chairman Mission Board.
