ARSA golden jubilee stresses unity, skills and innovation

The Aong Reju Sporting Association (ARSA) marked its 50th Golden Jubilee at Mopungchuket with a programme that highlighted unity, cultural grounding, skill development and innovation as key priorities for the younger generation.

 

Delivering the keynote address on “Putusen den jangyumedem” (Keeping pace with the new generation), Nungsang Aier of Dimapur underlined the need to balance cultural roots with global outlooks.

He said unity is not merely documented but practiced, and stressed that the younger generation must remain rooted in tradition while adapting to changing times and advancements. He also called for greater understanding between generations in responding to global perspectives.

Speakers at the programme emphasized innovation and entrepreneurship, urging the youth to focus on skill development and product creation. They highlighted the potential of developing Mopungchuket-branded products and adopting innovative approaches in marketing and production.

In his exhortation, Imkong Aier of Dimapur spoke on the importance of practical education and technical skills, encouraging the youth to contribute meaningfully to society by becoming technically competent. Suzulemla of Kohima, while expressing gratitude for an educational award, acknowledged ARSA’s role in promoting holistic growth through education, art and sports, and encouraged values of truth, honesty and spiritual awareness.

ARSA president Imlikumzuk welcomed the jubilarians, while Rimachang Aier, convenor of the planning committee, proposed the vote of thanks. The Golden Jubilee celebrations also featured a Jubilee opening act, folk songs, greetings and words of gratitude.
