The 54th WADYO Naga Wrestling Meet 2026, organized by the Western Angami ‘D’ Youth Organization (WADYO), was held at Sechüma village (Sechü Zubza) with competitions in Senior and Junior categories, showcasing the strength of traditional Naga wrestling.
Prasielie Pienyü, Chairman of the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDCL), Government of Nagaland, graced the event as the special guest. Addressing the gathering, he noted that players today have significantly improved in discipline, fitness, and self-maintenance compared to earlier times.
He highlighted the state government’s sustained efforts to promote and upgrade sports, particularly Naga traditional wrestling, which has gained recognition at national and international levels. Encouraging the wrestlers, he urged them to give their best and bring pride to themselves and the state.

In the Senior Category, Neikerhezo Zhünyü of Sechü Zubza secured first place, followed by Kedizelhou Zhünyü, also of Sechü Zubza. Thepfüsahu Kuotsu of Mengujuma finished third, while Neikhotso Nagi of Sechü Zubza took fourth place.
The Junior (U-15) Category was dominated by Sechü Zubza wrestlers, with Metseilhoukho Zhünyü clinching first place, followed by Thejasezo Sechü, Vikuosa Nipu, and Kevisekho Nagi.
