The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung) faction has claimed responsibility for an attack on the 4th Assam Rifles camp stationed at Ranglom village under Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, which it said was carried out by its Naga Army tactical unit at around 8 a.m. on Monday.
In a press release issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the NSCN/GPRN (Y/A) alleged that the Indian security forces sealed off the area following the incident, due to which the extent of their casualties could not be ascertained.
The group further alleged that, in the aftermath of the attack, security forces resorted to harassment and torture of civilians in the area, claiming that innocent villagers were made to bear the consequences of the incident.
While expressing regret over the alleged suffering of the public, the outfit asserted that the attack was a necessary step to defend what it termed as Naga land from ongoing oppression. It reiterated that the Naga Army would continue its operations, declaring its readiness to target security forces and their agencies “anytime and anywhere.”

The statement also praised the bravery of its cadres, claiming the operation sent a strong message to what it described as “enemy forces.”
