ACVA Wokha calls on GPRN/NSCN factions to immediately cease unauthorized tax collections

The All Commercial Vehicles Association (ACVA) Wokha has raised concerns on the unauthorised tax collections by Naga National political groups appealing all the parties involved to immediately cease unauthorised collections.

While considering the importance on the issue of the Naga political solution in the state, the ACVA Wokha expressed that the unabated and unauthorized tax collection from local entrepreneurs and business establishments is becoming a growing concern, particularly affecting the ACVA Wokha District.

“The group, believed to be NSCN GPRN-K and NSCN/GPRN K ISAC, has repeatedly imposed taxes on multiple occasions on the ACVA Wokha from the VK Town area. The group has also threatened to ban ACVA members from traveling via VK Town if taxes are not paid, which has deeply hurt the sentiments of the ACVA Wokha and the general public,” stated the ACVA. In light of this, the ACVA Wokha has appealed to the Village Chairman under VK Town to support the ACVA Wokha by taking appropriate steps.

The Association has urgently called upon law enforcement agencies (police and administration) to support their efforts by deploying highway patrols in the VK Town area.

“While appreciating past efforts, ACVA Wokha requests additional steps to halt these continued unauthorized tax collections. ACVA Wokha stands firm in its stance of “One Government, One Tax,” a principle reaffirmed  on September 2, 2024, in collaboration with Civil Society Organizations such as the Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, and others,” asserted the Association.

Calling on the GPRN/NSCN factions to immediately cease unauthorized tax collections, the ACVA warned, “Should this not happen, ACVA Wokha will be forced to take its own course of action.”
