AICC Secretary In Charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, S. Supongmeren Jamir, MP and PCC President, accompanied by several party leaders including the Working President of NPCC, Khriedi Theunuo, today met with the officials of Wokha District Congress Committee (DCC) at Congress Bhavan, Wokha.
The NPCC Communications Department informed that during the visit, a wide range of discussions were held with the party functionaries and supporters, focusing on strengthening the party organization, addressing political challenges, and mobilizing grassroots leadership in the district.
Speaking during the event, Christopher Tilak emphasized the importance of action and highlighted that just as Mahatma Gandhi had traveled across India to mobilize people, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is reaching out to the masses today. He stressed four key aspects of politics: a strong narrative, effective leadership, a robust organization, and active fieldwork.
He further underscored the need for the party to communicate a strong message to the people of Nagaland and have leaders who can speak effectively.
Tilak also criticized the BJP for misleading the people and failing to focus on employment and development, and exhorted the party workers present instead to connect with the voters based on the principles of truth and accountability.
S. Supongmeren Jamir stated that capable leaders should be elected, especially among PCC members, as they play a crucial role at the constituency level. He assured that restructuring the party is aimed at reviving Congress in Nagaland and that leadership decisions will be based on capability, adding that while restructuring may cause misunderstandings, no one will be left behind.
Khriedi Theünuo, Working President, NPCC, mentioned that the party is preparing for the 2028 elections under the Roadmap 2025-26, which has been acknowledged by Rahul Gandhi. He further affirmed that the ongoing statewide tour program has been started with a commitment to serve the people of Nagaland.
